What retailers have the best and the worst reputation among American consumers? And more importantly, how can something be measured as intangible as "reputation"? Autonomous consumers now have an informed opinion on this issue, and look forward to identify the best and worst of the retail United States.

Each market research firm Harris Interactive is the annual task of identifying companies in all industries that have a good reputation for both good and bad in the opinion of the American consumer.

In 2015, more than 24,000 consumers were surveyed to quantify on a two-step process and classify something as unquantifiable as the reputation of the brand.

The first stage of the reputation of the opinion consumer survey Harris Interactive brand is to identify the "most visible" companies, the company had been. These are the companies that carried out for the consumer, if they were asked to identify two most prestigious companies and two companies with the worst reputation. After compiling the responses of consumers' business visible "companies most often mentioned 60 were given a name and were later included in the second part of the investigation.

The second part of the research reputation of the brand was the "evaluation phase." During the evaluation phase, we asked consumers the "attributes of reputation" for a maximum of two companies "very" or "somewhat familiar" with needed to be assessed. Harris Interactive found that the sum of twenty attributes to determine whether a company is a good or bad reputation.

These attributes were twenty different categories:

The overall result of consumer classifications Reputation Quotient (RQ) and the list of final ranking reflects high scores under RQ.

Here you will find the complete list of retail companies that were selected in the top 20 of the leading retail brand in 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012 and 2011. The list is in alphabetical order by the name of the Company. The figures for each year are the reputation of the brand ranking that receive the company this year, compared with the reputation ranking 100 companies in all industries.
